Why Follow Jesus?

For those that do not follow Christ, these reasonable questions arise. Why would I want to follow Jesus? What makes him special? What does he offer that cannot be obtained in some other way?

Follow Jesus because He is God

Jesus is unique in the fullest meaning of the word. He is unlike any other man in history. Jesus lived totally without sin because of his Divine origin. The God of creation was his father, while paradoxically Jesus was also God in the flesh.

Follow Jesus because of His Life

Jesus came to show us how to live. Consider the evil of the Roman era and the radical difference of Jesus’ message. Have things changed today? Others may preach love, forgiveness, compassion, and charity but Jesus alone can impart these virtues to a human heart.

Follow Jesus Because of His Death

Jesus lived a perfect life and died an atoning death. Many good men have died but no other death left humanity such a bounty. Jesus’ death became an atonement for all that will receive. Yes, because Jesus paid for our sins, all our shame is canceled before God! God cannot tolerate sin and lovingly made a way of atonement for mankind.

Follow Jesus Because He alone Can Forgive (Take Away) Sin

Isn’t there any other way to deal with our sin? Sorry, nothing else is effective against man’s greatest disease. Through out the ages righteous men looked with expectancy for the coming Messiah. They hoped, looked, and believed. Finally, the darkness was broken and God appeared in the flesh as Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus was God’s greatest gift and provision for salvation from sin. The writings of the prophets pinpointed the time of his appearing, his suffering, his atoning work, and resurrection from the grave.

 Follow Jesus because He Lives

Jesus not only died for our sins but also came out of the grave to give us a new life. This means there is no limit in what God can do for you! Yes, he has provided eternal life through Jesus. This eternal life is literal and encompasses far more than we can imagine.

Follow Jesus because He is the Light

Jesus not only forgives sin but also speaks truth. Truth is metaphorically called light but in the spiritual reality truth is light. Yes, the truth of Christ’s message will bring light to the darkest heart. His light waits to shine in you today.

You can hear from Jesus’ in the
Holy Scriptures
A New Life Can be Yours!

Therefore if any man be in Christ,
He is a new creature:
Old things are passed away; behold,
All things are become new.
